The JOY of Reading!

As much as I yearned to complete the latest Bridgerton story, today I resolved to READING something, just a few lines for that matter!

Hey Fellas, How are you all doing?
I see ample of new subscribers- Welcome!❤️ I hope I get you all something meaningful to indulge in!!!

As the title suggests, today’s piece is about reading and finding JOY doing that!

Speaking for myself, I am an erratic reader!! Or if at all I decide to read, I mostly prefer the lighthearted, easy going books! Well, it is better than not reading at all- what say???
I think all of us would agree that the computers have become an aversion to reading- doom scrolling is the perfect unpaid job we have all got!😅

To pick up reading after days- what better than a writing that reminds me of the ‘Joy of Reading‘!!

I reread a chapter from the ‘Discussions on Youth by Daisaku Ikeda’ and I have somethings that stayed with me-

  • Similar to learning a new sport/ training, it takes effort, perseverance and extreme patience to appreciate Reading!
  • People often complain that they do have the time to read- But, it is really just a matter of setting our mind to it. If there is truly a desire to read, even 10 mins a day can make that difference.
  • Read thoughtfully, not passively- We must read in a way that cultivates us- where we reflect and contemplate over everything we read.

I could relate more with the above points, possibly because I struggle with these challenges the most! Whenever I fall off the habit of reading, the best shot is to start with reading something that interests me, that I enjoy!
I personally have the habit of underlining/ taking notes from whatever I read- what I liked/ something I hated! IT MAKES A LOT OF SENSE to me.. I love to go back and reread all of it!

This is your sign to get back to reading- for any one of you looking for it!☺️

If you have any ways you stick to reading all year along- let me know below too!

Have a great rest of the week!!

Much Love ❤
