The JOY of Reading!

As much as I yearned to complete the latest Bridgerton story, today I resolved to READING something, just a few lines for that matter!

Hey Fellas, How are you all doing?
I see ample of new subscribers- Welcome!❤️ I hope I get you all something meaningful to indulge in!!!

As the title suggests, today’s piece is about reading and finding JOY doing that!

Speaking for myself, I am an erratic reader!! Or if at all I decide to read, I mostly prefer the lighthearted, easy going books! Well, it is better than not reading at all- what say???
I think all of us would agree that the computers have become an aversion to reading- doom scrolling is the perfect unpaid job we have all got!😅

To pick up reading after days- what better than a writing that reminds me of the ‘Joy of Reading‘!!

I reread a chapter from the ‘Discussions on Youth by Daisaku Ikeda’ and I have somethings that stayed with me-

  • Similar to learning a new sport/ training, it takes effort, perseverance and extreme patience to appreciate Reading!
  • People often complain that they do have the time to read- But, it is really just a matter of setting our mind to it. If there is truly a desire to read, even 10 mins a day can make that difference.
  • Read thoughtfully, not passively- We must read in a way that cultivates us- where we reflect and contemplate over everything we read.

I could relate more with the above points, possibly because I struggle with these challenges the most! Whenever I fall off the habit of reading, the best shot is to start with reading something that interests me, that I enjoy!
I personally have the habit of underlining/ taking notes from whatever I read- what I liked/ something I hated! IT MAKES A LOT OF SENSE to me.. I love to go back and reread all of it!

This is your sign to get back to reading- for any one of you looking for it!☺️

If you have any ways you stick to reading all year along- let me know below too!

Have a great rest of the week!!

Much Love ❤

Is Soul Recognition real!?

Hey people!

A very happy New year to you all! ❤️

I just started reading “Only Love Is Real” by Dr. Brian Weiss. The very first few pages in the book and he talks about SOUL RECOGNITION!

And I quote, “He may not recognize you, even though you have finally met again, even though you know him. You can feel the bond. You can see the potential, the future. But he does not. Soul recognition may be immediate. A sudden feeling of familiarity, of knowing this new person at depths far beyond what the conscious mind could know. Soul recognition may be subtle and slow. A dawning of awareness as the veil is gently lifted. Not everyone is ready to see right away. You may be awakened to the presence of your soul
companion by a look, a dream, a memory, a feeling. You may be awakened by the touch of his hands or the kiss of her lips, and your soul is jolted back to life.”

And the chapter was left at that! I mean, I was maybe waiting for a real life incident supporting the above.

Now I am far more than inquisitive. It kind of feels far from real to me. Maybe something that would suit the movies or books!

But I really WANT to be proved otherwise!!!

Has someone of you ever experienced something like this? I would really love to hear; if you are comfortable sharing! Do comment down below or email me! I am keen to dive deep into anything that can make me believe SOUL recognition is real! ❤️

Hope you all have had an amazing Sunday! Wishing all of us have the best week ahead!

Lots of love! ❤️

Signature style at the place of work!

A happy Humpday to all of you working! 😀

Was reading a few articles this morning, when I came across the concept of developing a signature style at the place of work.

I found it interesting and hence worthy of sharing with all of you.

Work-life can be humdrum most of the times. To regenerate that SPIRIT in working, we need to add a “Signature style at our places of work”- basically something that differentiates us from the other people doing the same thing.

Some very interesting examples I came through (shared by Barbara Glanz, a professional speaker);

One of the supermarket employees, Johnny- wanted to apply his sense of style while billing for his customers each day (to add joy and positivity). So, he would print the “thought of the day” on little cards, sign them with his name, and put one in each as he would bag the customers their groceries. A month later, there was a huge line at his counter! People wanted to billed by Johnny so they could get the thought of the day. They all loved it! Even other staff members begun doing their bit.

The staff was having fun, the customers were having fun, ultimately greatly uplifting the SPIRIT of the workplace.

One of the senior managers had a personal style to attach a soft tissue with the memo he knew his staff won’t like very much. I find it funny and thoughtful at the same time.

One of the pilots of the United Airlines would select random passengers on board and write them ‘thank you’ notes for flying with them.

Isn’t it all so warm and thoughtful. I am so motivated to develop a personal style of my own too!!

DO YOU HAVE ANY SUCH SIGNATURES YOU LIVE BY..? I would love to know!

Have a great rest of the week.🎈

You got this! ❤️

Developing a positive Self Image! 💛🕊

Self image is a combination of how you present yourself and how others perceive you.

It includes your physical image as well as the past experiences that have shaped you to be the person you currently are.

It is dynamic, it changes as the objectives of your life change.

Fostering a positive self image is equally important as maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

A few simple steps to follow and you are on the right track:☺️

1. Focus on refining the positives– All of us have our shares of positives and negatives. It is important to refine and highlight the positive traits while working on the not so great ones.

2. Take time to do what you love– A peaceful, satisfied soul is far more effective than an unsatisfied one. Make sure to take that road trip you are planning for so long! 🚌 Little moments of detox/ clarity can help get back on track. Like they say, being yourself gives you the best kind of confidence!

From one of the road trips to the mountains 🏔That is what I love! 🧘🏻‍♀️

3. Define the personal goals– A major part of the current self image is defined by the personal goals we set. Make sure to set reasonable and time bound personal objectives, so they are achievable and there is a constant motivation to work towards them- to develop the lifestyle we have been dreaming of.

4. Positive body image– Body image is an undeniable component of the self image! So, dress your part … wear what makes you feel good about yourself.

5. Give positive affirmations– Writing down things makes them solid. You feel confident realising your own worth. Make sure to write positive affirmations at least once a week or before sleep! ✍️

A positive self image can boost your emotional, mental and physical well being. It is the little steps towards a more confident life.💛❤️

Hope all of you are doing great and doing your share to keep yourself happy! 😀

Happy Sunday!☺️

IS IT REALLY GOOD OR BAD LUCK?

My tuition teacher would always wish me “GOOD LUCK” before all my exams (never said “all the best”- he thought luck can make or break a person.)

I think most of us believe in luck, and that it plays an important role in making us who we aspire to be.

What do you think, Is Luck a matter of chance?

Most psychologists doubt the concept of LUCK. They believe getting on well with our subconsciousness makes us lucky. And that keeping an open mind, being easy going helps us make better decisions in life, finally seizing better opportunities! (which we may ultimately term Luck?)

Believing in luck or not is a personal thought and choice, but what I personally believe is;
You’ll not be able to achieve what you want by just sitting, waiting for LUCK to do its thing by itself.
Lucky opportunities may present themselves to us every now and then, but these moments would amount to nothing unless we are ready– ready to face these lucky moments, ready to work hard afterwards.

Finally whatever side you are on, let us always keep a healthy mindset – A mindset that accepts bad luck as inevitable but good luck as something we create by sheer hard work, bravery and optimism.

Wishing ‘GOOD LUCK’ to you all! ❤

SCENTS AND SMELLS- A SHORT STORY

Kiara made her way to the Jaipur railway station, loaded with two suitcases, couple of backpacks and handbags 🛍🧳💼(of which her grandma’s photo was popping out🖼), another bag full of ‘maa ke haato ka khana’ and a leash in her hand. She was shifting to Delhi for her new job (with her dog, yes🐶).

2 | WHAT I KNOW FOR SURE

By Oprah Winfrey

Recently in one of her Instagram stories, Tahira Kashyap Khuranna mentioned how she finished an entire book in a day; I was fascinated to read it and so bought “What I Know For Sure by Oprah Winfrey” on her recommendation!

(Tmi- my first ever hard cover purchase 😛 )
